I'm not a big fan of chaos and other such "{restrictive board's} {forbidden thing} containment board" kind of trickle-down places, since 9.6 times out of 10 they turn out to be a hyperdistilled dumping ground of whatever it is that was forbidden with zero personality beyond that, much less a personality of its own.
I'd much rather have a general kemono place with a mix of everything, more like what original /kemono/ used to be, but I doubt there are enough people not possessed by the internet hysteria brainworm left online to make that happen, much less in the market for japanese dog-people.
>Would be nice to bolster /kemono/ a bit instead of splitting between two places.
1 this split already happened (between three places, actually)
2 even foregoing how asymmetric such relations are, I doubt each board has much audience overlap to offer to the other
I'd much rather try to grow something more easygoing and less obsessed with a nebulous internet ideology war that has no winner, either here, or back on plw or somewhere else entirely.
As for the new thread, I've been cooking up an OP for the last month or so, but I've been pretty fucked lately to where even on the weekends I'm either too busy or too exhausted to sit down and properly put together all the things I want to mention, and the rather intimidating 20k limit isn't helping.
Like, I got to mention Pixiv, and to mention Pixiv I have to mention PixivFE and PixuvUtil, but then for PixivUtil I got to at least explain installing Python and probably git and getting your pixiv cookie from a browser...
Besides, rather than kemono specifically, I wanted to make it more like "anything furry as long as it's far enough from the generic furry slop you can find anywhere else" and with a focus towards obscure/rare/region-locked stuff like Youshouyan and Nell's Adventure and other cool stuff I've found on BiliBili, but not just Chinese. I don't even know how to quantify that, so that's a good start.
AI definitely needs a thread of its own, though, or a rule about one AI post per 5 ordinary posts and posting more than 5 images from the same series as a zip. It's just too numerous and too tempting to post.
