started playing IV some time ago and damn, didn't realize there were so many waifu like demons. It's like pokemon, but for degenerates!

>>6957 Haven't finished IV yet, but this game's "ideological conflict" seems just like trashy anarchist apologetics and a strawman of religion. I also don't get why the "angels" in IV look just as scary and demonic as normal demons (they're not even "biblically accurate", so its double pointless). As if the designers forgot what's the point of character design, but only for demons. Humans designs are used well, but demons range from cute mascots and chicks to lovecraft, with seemingly no logic as to which are used where. First MGQ at least knows who's supposed to be the villain, so those angels make sense to look scary. Haven't played paradox yet tho, only the 3 parts of the visual novel.

I kinda see what you're getting at, but in SMT you also have random stuff as "demons" like the garrote or whatnot. For me its clearly a case of "gameplay and cool varied creatures to summon is a first, any story around them is second". From what I saw some games kinda painted it like all those are just creatures of various power levels, and Yahwe for example was just the most powerful of them so he was able to take control... but its still weak plot wise, mostly trying to justify why so many "gods of the sun" or "gods of all creation" or alike can exist parallel to each other. Also watched the final boss with YHVH in IV Final and... man, that was some basic bitch "God bad" stuff if I ever saw any. I don't know everything about IV Final, was it confirmed anywhere that YHVH is the actual creator of the entire world? Or that there's some other chief deity behind it all? As for better gnosticism, I remember liking P5 final boss, its also literally named yaldabaoth, so that helps too. I don't even like P5, just that aspect was pretty solid. Xenogears also did gnosticism perfectly I think. Thanks to not using any actual religions, and at most just naming things after them it could work better. Whereas SMT uses the names and designs explicitly. They're not monsters or whatnot that just happened to share the name YHVH or Shiva or whatnot, they ARE supposed to be them.
