I like to think of MGC as a place, as mentioned, set aside by a modern government for Monstergirls to settle in after some initial chaos after a portal opens in the modern year. It becomes sort of a bubble in itself, unaware of the larger schemes and power plays going on in the human side of the border/reservation
The City/Territory itself is set on a mountainous peninsula with at least one or two rivers running through it, with tons of green spaces and some suburbs/rural areas towards the border with the human governments
In MGC, there's every species represented, with most districts/areas supporting a specific variety of species:
>Aquatic/Fish/Mollusk/Mermaid/Crustacean/Amphibian types live along the shores/rivers/ponds/lakes/port/underwater along side MGC or within its water boundaries
>Mining taking place in the mountain range overlooking the city its full of industry and various dragonic/dwarf/fiery types
>Apartments are full of all kids of MGs, With avian/bird types living on the top of the apartments/skyscrapers, while slimes live in the underground
>Tons of parks for both Plant types and the various MGs who need the greenspace to make sense of life.
>Undead mostly hang around the rural areas, where life is quite a bit slower
>The Financial district is full of Demons, Tanukis, creeping coins, Dragons, Elves, and others.
>Intense public transit is available, be it subways, light-rail, busses, highways, Sky thoroughfares (for all the flying MGs, Lanes for both Shipping Vessels and swimming MGs, and more
>Building codes have to accommodate practically all creatures, so doors and ceilings are high enough for Ogres, and wide enough for Ushi Onis.
>The only MG who really has a hard time in MGC would be Sandworms. There's just not really enough space, and although they offered to help build the subway system, the Wurm Union got really upset.
