>"Phew, this area was something else. Who would have thought we would encounter a desert after that boss."
>"You would, if you had been paying attention at our guide."
Guess he's right.
>"Whatever, keep alert for this one, hopefully you didn't waste all of your antivenom on the way here."
Once again, we find ourselves in front of a large stone arch surrounded in clouds. I follow my friend inside of the arena, senses ready to react at any slight threat.
Resting on the floor i see a curled up scorpion girl, quite large in size. She slowly rises into wakefulness, and looks to us.
<"Tch, you want to go through here, you need to defeat me, you know how it goes."
Without saying much else, she unceremoniously lunges her large stinger towards me, which i manage to avoid.
Once again, me and my friend split, but this time it brings us no advantage. She's extremely dexterous with both her pincers and her tail, being able to easily deal with us at the same time.
<"Hah, time to make this even more difficult for you noobs."
She quickly swipes the ground in a circle, forcing us to recede into the edge of the arena. I watch as her image becomes blurry, and then splits in two. Looking back at my friend in confusion, he can only stare back at me the same.
We try our best to fight a clone each, trying to discern which one is the real one. They seem weaker, but still not enough to give us an advantage. Between the melee attacks of her pincers and the venom spray of her tail it's becoming more and more difficult to land a hit on her.
<"Again!"
She laughs maniacally as she does the same sweeping move and split. Now we are fighting against 4 giant scorpions barely holding on.
We take a quick decision to focus on one, and when we finally manage to defeat the clone, we look in horror as the others had already duplicated again.
>"We need to find the real one, before it's too late."
We keep concentrating on them one at a time, doing out best to hold off the acidic poison and the pincer punching, but it seems like it's all in vain. After defeating a final clone, we are overwhelmed. I get cornered, covering my face to avoid ingesting any of the green venom. There is barely anything i can do.
>"Hold that one off, we are going to have so much fun with this one."
>"Hurry up then, i want to have my turn too."
>"We can do him two at a time!"
Are they talking about my friend? I use their arguing as an opportunity to look around me. Two of the clones are riding his limp body, covered in sticky liquids. He's barely holding on to consciousness, being aggressively mounted by the girtablilus who inject him with a steady supply of their juice.
Behind that horrifying scene however, i see the open arch no longer covered in clouds. We must have defeated the original without realizing. Taking a leap of faith, i start running towards it, my last hope.
A hand grabs me.
>"Hoy, where do you think you are going?"
My fear is enough to make me react quicker than her. I take off the armor on my chest, and flee quickly before any of the others can catch up to me.
As i make it through the threshold, all of the chaotic sounds disappear. After a moment of hesitation, i look back into the now empty arena, neither boss nor friend in sight. He was gone, and now it was up to me to finish the rest of the adventure alone.
Hopefully wikifag sees the image this time.
