A lot of MG-centered media comes from Japan, yes, or another Oriental country (the relevant example, Blue Archive, is a product of a Korean developer rather than Japanese). But. It is just a product. We are talking about commercially distributed media that is being sold on the global market. You know, how Made-in-China goods are being sold around the world? Having one of these in your house does not mean that you like China as a country, its government, the social credit system, or even their traditional culture (which is not much less unappealing to a freedom loving individual). You might admire AK-line weapons, and own some of them, but that does not make you a fan of Soviet Union, Russia, socialism or prison culture. Likewise. I like fox-girls. I like some of the MG-centered settings. Some of the characters, features, characteristics from the other monster-girl media. But that does not mean that I have to like the rest of Japanese culture, their people, or their country. Wakamo's design is cute, but I'd rather not have her be an Oriental fox. So I did what? Made up a separate character that looks just like Wakamo, but is not Wakamo! Works for me.
