I tried a couple of things to see if it would fix the dialogue box issue, but nothing seemed to work. I'm using Luna to hook the text and Gemini AI for translation. It's free, it's easy to get an API key, and easy to make a burner account if you need one. I tried a couple of different options, they all had their own issues from the translation itself reading like nonsense to only half the text being picked up for some reason, but Gemini seemed like the most consistent. But you should still keep an alternative close by. Sometimes it will blatantly miss hard on the translation, or translate it to romaji instead of english, or any other issue really. You can set it up so all the text gets automatically copied to your clipboard so you don't have to go back and forth in the settings. There is also the issue of a limit of translations per minute if you go through the text too fast, which is bound to happen if you play it manually, but you can just wait a few seconds and request it to retranslate.

I didn't play shrift 1 but from what I've seen of the cast it's full of designs I'm not too into and from what I've heard the characters lean too far into that "actually just kinda evil" territory the world is generally not welcoming of monsters and gives the impression that you're wrong to like them, and I like that. for me the best part about monstergirls is finding scraps of humanity in inhuman minds and forging a meaningful connection through that, and without that they're much more just human women that like sex too much for comfort that said, the sequel games for example mostly don't bother doing that (mostly), and I still liked many of those characters a lot

Still thinking of the anon looking for games with confident adult getting got by monster girls, it actually feels like that's surprisingly rare in games while it is more commonplace in doujins and the like. I'm guessing it must be because it is far easier to introduce an adventurer with some accomplishments to his name already in the middle of his journey in comic form than as the playable character for a game. You wouldn't want to play something where you're just dealing with regular ass monsters for 10 hours and making a name for yourself before meeting your first monster girl who will catch you by surprise and subdue you. Games where you play as a cocky young man, but you are the one bringing them down seem way more common however.
